MARIE ADAMS aka'TV Mama' - was best known by  her role in The Johnny Otis Show with her backing singers, The Three Tons Of Joy.  She'd however enjoyed earlier success as a singer, recording Gospel and R&B material for the Peacock label, before hooking up with Otis in the mid-1950s.   Marie, plus sisters Sadie & Francine McKinley, as the Three Tons Of Joy (their combined weight topped 800lbs), were a major focus of the Johnny Otis Show of the late 50's.  This is the first compilation to encompass all the different elements of Marie's recording career, covering the period 1951-58.........
