This collection of recordings from the vaults of Excelsior and Spin Records features early sides by the KING COLE TRIO- JOHNNY OTIS & GERALD WILSON.......  Otis Rene's Excelsior label also  featured  Jimmy Rushing,  Gladys Bentley and the first Drifters group. Later, he created Spin Records which featured The Hollywood Flames with Johnny Otis, Preston Love and singer Beverly Wright & Phil Flowers.....As with all early West Coast labels the mix of blues- jazz & gospel was what the record buyers of the time wanted.............
