The reissue of the 1975 Shuggie Otis album "Inspiration Information" in 2004 caused a storm, one of the great albums and careers that time forgot . A soul album tinged with jazz and off kilter funk, its DIY approach and lo-fi electronics predicted much of what would follow at the end of the 20th Century. The album was recorded at sessions during the period 1972-1974. Before, during and after this period Shuggie Otis continued his work as a session musician partly for his father 's (Johnny Otis) ongoing productions at his own Hawk Sound Studios, where much of Inspiration Information was recorded. The music on our compilation is a mixture of blues, R&B, funk, soul, all recorded in the same DIY lo-fi way at Hawk Sound studios, across 1973-1977 RICHARD BERRY 1 Doin' It (3:15) 2 Trackin' Machine (2:41) 3 Louie, Louie (2:15) JOHNNY OTIS 4 Willie and the Hand Jive (2:43) 5 Country Girl (2:35) 6 Bad Luck Shadow (3:31) BIG JOE TURNER 7 Shake, Rattle & Roll (3:00) 8 TV Mama (3:04) CHARLES BROWN 9 Big Legged Woman (2:52) 10 Driftin' Blues (4:03) LOUIS JORDAN 11 Choo Choo Ch'Boogie (2:47) 12 I Got the Walkin' Blues (3:07) JOE LIGGINS 13 Honeydripper, Pt.1 (2:58) 14 Boom-Chick-A-Boogie (3:43) AMOS MILBURN 15 Chicken Shack Boogie (2:44) 16 One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer (3:05) GATEMOUTH MOORE 17 Did You Ever Love a Woman?
