Two great and under-rated lp's one one disc. Amazing!
First the bad news - the bonus cuts that were on the (long out of print) US issue of the live album are not here. Well, you didn't REALLY need them, and you need "They Call Me". The cool thing is that Muddy's 60's band really cut some grooves here; I have long been partial to "Find Yourself Another Fool" as an example. It is not weird rock - just an ever-so-slightly updated blues. After all, it's still Muddy!
The live album is one that I kinda blew off for years - not until I read Robert Gordon's book did I give it a chance. Ok, I blew that one - the live album is great! Everything you like about Muddy is there: deep grooves; slide guitar; declamatory vocals; great harmonica.
If you are missing either of these, grab this cd!
