Neosoul perpetrators better step aside - Van Hunt has dropped the best neosoul album of 2004. The brother has the lyrics, the production, guitar-playing skills, not to mention his voice that oozes in out of falsetto into too heart-wrenching pain. Some people might try to compare him to DAngelo or Bilal, but the reality is he is something in between Sly Stone and Curtis Mayfield. The production here his tight, avoids corny lyrics, and he successfully mixes old school sounds with new school beats.
