Tracy Nelson turned 80 this year, but from this recording you couldn't tell. Unlike many of her contemporaries, she retains the clear & deeply soulful vocals that she had from her earliest recordings with MOTHER EARTH. There is no info on the cd about backing band but they are solid to a fault and the song selection is impeccable. Covers of Rosetta Tharpe sit comfortably next to nasty Sonny Boy Williamson tracks. The guests, and there are a few, always add to the song rather than take over the performance. A wonderful release with deep roots..............
