One of blues' finest sidemen/accompanists, guitarist EDDIE KIRKLAND built a reputation working with John Lee Hooker, both live and on record, between 1949 and 1962. After retiring briefly in the late 60s, he was rediscovered in the mid-70s and continued to work regularly on the blues circuit until his death in 2011 at the age of eighty-eight. These 28 tracks include 9 originally not issued and come from the FORTUNE- KING- RPM-DELUXE labels and are some of the rawest recordings of electric downhome blues...........
