This set was supposedly recorded live at BIG JOHN'S CLUB in Chicago in 1966 but it sounds like a studio effort.  Featuring some of the earliest recordings of CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE & HARVY MANDEL, the set has a straight ahead 60's feel with future ELECTRIC FLAG founder BARRY GOLDBERG playing some fine organ throughout....Singer BOBBY JONES, (whose DELTA GROOVE release COMIN BACK HARD of a couple years ago was great) is featured on 3 tracks and shows his emotive style during the periodd he was featured vocalist with THE ACES.....
