Phillip Walker has always made strong, unpretentious music for those who like finely crafted blues records. His guitar and vocals always fit the song and are never overplayed. On this new live recording, Walker is joined by a group of special guests who add to the flavor and enjoyment of the recording. Angela Strehli, Charlie Musselwhite and Rick Estrin take turns with the big band and make the entire release a smooth & satisfying ride. For his part, Walker sings it straight and gives plenty room to the assembeled multitude. Records like this are rare these days.
