THIS BUDGET PRICED RELEASE IS CHOCK FULL OF SAVAGE GUITAR IN GREAT SOUND QUALITY AND EXTENSIVE NOTES.....
By the time the world at large caught up with Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, as the cool dude with a string of brilliant, streetwise album hits that blended rocking' '50s R&B, Soul, Hollywood schmaltz and futuristic funk, Johnny had been stunning aficionados of the electric blues guitar for more than 20 years. This Introduction traces his early recording career from his first solo waxings for Federal from 1953 where he is playing piano, through to his RPM recordings from 1955 where he had switched instrument to guitar. On all of these early sessions he is joined by the cream of Los Angeles' sidemen from R&B combos at that time
