Shuffle boogie bluebeat sounds from one of the earliest recording artists of the sound,..........Brought up in the notorious Trench Town district of Kingston, where he was born in July 1939, Owen Gray came from a family of six children. It was a rendition of Wilbert Harrison's 'Kansas City' on Vere Johns' famous Opportunity Hour radio show that gave Owen the first inkling his passion could also be his career. His disc debut came in 1956 when he waxed 'Who Saw The Lightning' for Hi-Lite Records, reputed to be one of the first Blue Beat recordings to be made..........
